Ajmer is a popular tourist destination of Rajasthan located 130 kms from Jaipur and 14 kms from Pushkar. The City was found by Raja Ajaypal Chauhan in the seventh century. Famous tourist attraction of Ajmer is as below:
Prithvi Raj Smarak
Prithvi Raj Samarak is built in the memory of Rajput warrior Pritvi Raj Chauhan III. He was the last ruler of Ajmer and capital Delhi in 12th century. The memorial is having statue of Maharaja Prithvi Raj Chauhan seated on the horse made in black marble. The horse has front one leg is up as symbolic to move forward. The memorial constructed on the hill and surrounding Aravali range giving visitors a panoramic view of the city Ajmer. Garden is also developed near the memorial for relax and refreshment.
Maharna Pratap Smarak
This Memorial is constructed on the Ajmer - Pushkar Road. One can observe the statue of Maharana Pratap sitting on their favorite horse Chetak. One can also see the panoramic view of the City Ajmer. The Laser light and sound show also organised in the evening. Sound Show explain the difference stories of the Kingdom and the history of the region.
Dargahh Sariff
Tomb of Sufi Saint Khawaja Moinuddin Chisti is one of the popular pilgrimage center. The shrine is built in 13th century. This Maqbara is famous among the people of all faith who came here to pray.
Adhai Din Ka Jhonpda
This Monuments is originally built for Sanskrit college but was later made mosque by Sultan Ghori in 1198. During the 18th Century, two and half day fair was organised which lead to its name of Adhai Din Ka Jhopda.
Anasagar Lake
Anasagar Lake is built during 1135 to 1150 AD by Maharaja Arnoraj also known as Anaji ancestor of Maharaj Prithvi Raj Chauhan. The name of the lake is born from Maharaja's Name. This scenic lake has also a garden near the lake.
Ajmer Jain Temple
Ajmer Jain Temple also known as Soniji Ki Nasiyan is one of the best example of ornate architecture. This Temple is considered among the richest temple of India. This famous temple has also get place in Kurt Titze's book,'Jainism: A Political Guide to the Region of Non-violence'.
Sahid Smarak Ajmer
This Memorial is built in memory of great warrior and martyrs of the state. the memorial is located near the railway station.
