- Lord Ganesha has written down text of Mahabharta in Sanskrit on dictated by Ved Vyasa.
- Lord Ganesha is also called Ekdanta. One of the tusk of Lord Ganesha is broken, if you observed lord Ganesha idol. There are several stories and said behind broken tusk. It is said that feather of lord Ganesha was broken while writing epic Mahabharta. So to fulfill the condition of continue writing, Lord Ganesha has broken one of the tusk and continue the writing. Other myth also said that Parashurama broke the tusk while Ganesha didn't permit Parashurama for meet with Lord Shiva. The axe which used by Parashurama was gifted by Lord Shiva. It is also said that Ganpati broke the tusk and threw to moon as moon was laughing on Ganesha belly.
- Lord Ganesha is known by many names. There are 108 different different name of Ganesha.
- According to one of the myth, it is said that idol of Ganpati is good for worship in house, if the curve of tusk is clockwise. If curve of tusk is anticlockwise, idol is good to worship in Temple.
- One day Ganesha meditated at bank of river. Tulsidevi impressed on seeing Ganpati and asked him to merry. But Ganesha refused the offer. Tulsi became angry & cursed him that he will marry soon. In return Ganesha cursed her to be converted into the Plant. It is the story behind Tulsi not used while worship Ganesha.
- According to Shiva Puran, Lord Ganesha married to Riddhi and Siddhi. He had two son kesma and labha. It is also believed that Maa Santoshi is daughter of Ganesha.
