Few Public of Surat city celebrates the festival on day after shravan poornima. It is believe that more then 100 of years ago one of the Boat full of people was capsized in Tapi River on shravan poornima.

Once Lord Krishna cut his arm finger unknowingly and was bleeding continue. Dropadi as seeing bleeding, without a single moment delay, tore off part of sarees and bandaged lord Krishna's finger. This peace of sarees later became endless sarees and save Dropadi from vstraharan.
